iPhone 12 battery drain overnight

My iphone 12 is just 2 days old and I am facing really bad battery drain overnight. I had almost 90% left for couple of days before I had gone to sleep and woke up with a remaining battery of around 65%. The battery chart has nothing for these hours. And moreover my mail push is set to manual and I had turned off wifi, bluetooth, location and mobile data. Is there something I can do to stop this?

It doesn't take much to understand that if your battery drains from 88 percent to 30 percent while IDLE and not being used in the middle of the night, that there's a problem. Doesn't take a level 10 to understand that. It's a problem that needs fixed. This entire thread is exactly about trying to SOLVE that problem. Some level 10's dismiss any discussion about it and write people off as un-intelligent because they don't agree with your bandaid approach of constantly having to plug the phone in. Is it helpful to write people off who are looking for a real solution? Does that qualify as "helping people for many years?" And I'm about to leave this forum for good, as it seems to have some level 10s that are quite dismissive of any other opinion than theirs in regards to my comments. All I got was grief from this forum, and all because I dared to want to solve a big problem with my phone. Shame on me. I should just be quiet and plug my phone in and do as the level 10s say, because they're the smart ones.

Hey, that’s great that it worked for you!

Unfortunately, my phone already had WiFi calling enabled, and the connectivity conditions didn’t change between losing and not losing charge.

Unfortunately I don’t think this solution is addressing the root problem.

It’s more like a normal reason for batt drain.

You got lucky with that being your only problem though, and that’s awesome!

I think we all checked settings > battery and there is nothing using the battery during the night, that is the point (may be Siri and Tim Cook enjoy hearing me sleeping). I also restored my iPhone from an iTunes backup and it helped a little bit. I didn't measure it exactly but it went from 30-25 to 25-15 percent per night.

Simply plugging the phone during the night is NOT a solution. if it drains during the night > it drains during the days, it drains during months and years. So it will kill my iPhone battery even earlier than apple, when it will decide that I need a new iPhone and kill my battery for me (joke).

When I first got the iPhone 12 I set it up as new. A week or so ago I also tried a full DFU-reset and set it up as new again. Neither helped with the idle/standby drain.

The battery app reports no usage at all during the night, just a steady battery decline.

As for the recommendation to charge at night, sure that might help against the nightly drain, but I’m also seeing this steady drain of about 2% per hour during idle/standby during the day as well. And it’s severely affecting the battery life.

Also, charging at night is not optimal for battery health. The Optimized battery charging function might help alleviate this for some, but if you have an unregular schedule it doesn’t work well.

Yes its true , its really disappointing, i have brand new iPhone 12, my background refresh is off , i dont use 5g, i dont use fast charger , i use orginal apple charger, also no running apps in the background still sucking my battery in idle mode , I usually lose 10 percent on an average overnight for no usage at all. I remember using iPhone 7- iPhone 8 , they never behaved like this when they were brand new , also its been years apple have been fixing battery draining problems with new updates but nothing helps instead gets worse. Never expected with the new phone this year , either they are purposely doing it so next year i might purchase a new battery or they have no fix for this bug.

I have the same issue, I’m using the apple original 20W charger. Night I had charged my phone and it was around 94% and I turned off mobile data, WiFi and Bluetooth and I had turned on low power mode still when I woke up in the morning my battery percentage is 68% this is really bad. In the battery Heath chart it shows nothing still battery is draining.

I’m facing the same exact issue, I have used 5s , 6 , 7 plus and XS this is the first time I’m seeing some issue like this and it’s too bad phone is 2 days old and battery drain during night is crazy. Minimum 25% battery drain in the night. Even if you turn on aeroplane mode also 20% drain is for sure overnight. I hope apple is hearing our problem

Omg finally i’m not the only one facing that problem. Here is the same problem, i turn of wifi, Bluetooth, location services, siri, background app refresh and nothing is running in background. Even that I charge my iPhone 12 to 100% battery before i sleep. Then i removed the charger, but when i woke up, it’s like 88% sometimes 90%. What’s going on with some of iPhone 12 ? I’m hoping next update to fix that problem.
