Hi I am part of the iPhone upgrade programme and I am due an upgrade in November however U.K. will be in lockdown from Thursday...is it still possible to get an upgrade or do I need to wait until lockdown is over and physically go to a store?

Well, everything on the iPhone Upgrade Programme site for the UK indicates it's in-store only:

https://www.apple.com/uk/shop/iphone/iphone-upgrade-program

To be sure though, I strongly suggest is giving Apple a call to see if they've made other allowances in the UK due to Covid-19.

You can call them directly at their UK number listed here:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201232

Since it's a rapidly evolving situation though I would be surprised if any arrangements have been made yet, but that's just my opinion.

You can use the https://getsupport.apple.com website to arrange for a scheduled call-back and save the toll charges if you don't have a land line.

Agree, offering the click and collect and not supporting this program is a joke. I understand Apple cannot be responsible for Government decision to lock the nation down, but in 2020 I cannot understand how it's possible to apply for a mortgage online only and apple cannot manage the change of a phone with shop closed.

At least, they could:

  1. Let me reserve a phone with a pickup date after 2nd December (ok, subject any possible government decision)
  2. Provide me some kind of discount/benefit to compensate the hassle

Click and collect is confirmed but if you try to buy something and select you want to collect from an apple store the site will tell you no store has availability of anything.

If you try the upgrade program you get a generic 'the program is not available now'. Has anybody tried to get in touch apple already today?
