iPadOS 14.1 backups files from “On My iPad” to iCloud without option to exclude them

After upgrade to iPadOS 14.1 my iPad wants to backup every file from "On my iPad" folder, which contains about 50 GB, so the backup is always larger than my iCloud quota. I cannot find an option to exclude these files and I couclude that it must be these files because if I delete some of them from the "On My iPad" folder the size of the backup decreases correspondingly. I tried to log out of iCloud and then log on again as somebody suggested somewhere, but the behaviour is still the same. I have not observerd such a problem with iPhone after upgrade to iOS 14.1.

Any idea how to exclude the files in "On My iPad" from iCloud backups ? Is there a setting I have not found yet ?

iPad Pro, iPadOS 14

You will have to either consider increasing your iCloud storage to accommodate the larger backup size, or make some reductions elsewhere, e.g. as per If you can't back up to iCloud or restore from iCloud backup failed - Apple Support like

  1. Upgrade your iCloud storage plan.
  2. Reduce the size of your backup.
  3. Delete any data that you don't need.
  4. If you still need help, contact Apple Support.

Alternatively, you can choose to turn off iCloud Drive and store all documents and files solely on your device providing you have enough space on the device itself.
