I keep experiencing an issue with my Apple TV 4K and the HULU app, each episode repeats itself twice before moving onto the next in a series. It happens with every show and staring es b episode individually is somewhat annoying.
Same thing was happening to me. Updating the app fixed the problem.
Yeah I kept getting deja vu because I leave the TV running in the background and don’t always pay attention to whatever series I’m playing. But it is surely an Apple TV problem, since it doesn’t happen on any of my other devices. It doesn’t happen on Netflix. It’s mildly annoying because I have the (advertisement free) version of Hulu, but if I was running ad supported version I would be absolutely livid having to watch ad after ad just to escape an episode I’ve already seen. I’d just switch to my PS4 until Apple fixes the issue.
Im with you! This has been happening for about a week now, seems to only affect shows you have seen and are starting over. All my new episodes don't seem to make it happen. Its been happening on both my apple TV 4th Gen and 4k one as well.
I have both the 1st Apple TV and the newest Apple TV and it’s happening on both. At first I thought I was going crazy - not fully paying attention to the show and not realizing the same episode was playing again haha.

it also happens on my ipad and iphone it’s definitely an apple issue they need to fix it asap it’s so annoying
Seemed like this didn’t start until the past 2 iOS upgrades. Doing it in Hulu on iPad. Getting on my nerves lol. It’s 2020 though - nothing surprises me anymore 🤦🏻♀️

I’m having the same problem also. At first I thought I was going crazy until I realized what was actually happening.
It’s really weird. I’ve had this issue too on my 4K. Hulu works normally on my PS4. I tried deleting and reinstalling the app, fixed for about a day and it’s back to repeating episodes. Apple please fix this!
Glad to know this isn't just happening to me. I have three 4k Apple TVs and it happens on every one and every program series. You get to the end of one episode and it plays the same episode again. I found if I go back to the episode selection screen, it will play the episode and then the next episode, but then starts repeating episodes again.
I went to the app store on my Apple TV to check if there was an update for Hulu and there was so I updated it and the problem went away.
