Hi, I got an iPad air for drawing and the battery has been draining very quickly when the screen is off, almost as if the screen was still on. The only app I have is procreate and I have a apple pencil 2 paired with it. Any help would be appreciated.

As an update to my post a couple of weeks ago I got a new unit from the Apple store as a replacement because my compass sensor was broken. Apple refused to take it back or officially acknowledge the battery had an issue but because the compass was broken I was able to walk out of the store with a replacement unit in hand. The replacement is working great, couldn’t be happier. I am 100% convinced that a some sort of hardware issue was at fault. Maybe the broken compass sensor was drawing power when it was not supposed to or something. If you are having this issue I would recommend to push for a replacement, best of luck!

Let it be about 1% every 3 hours... thats not much. If i use the iPad it depends on the app and the light ;)

I have been facing a battery drain also is standby, my iPad was sitting in 72%. I went out the house for 20min and then came back to see it like this. And when using it the battery consume faster after it drains in standby
Thank you. We have but they did diagnosis remotely and said nothing was wrong. So I confidently believe that this is a hardware problem. So disappointed in Apple on both sales and warranty services. They should make an announcement about this and let people change all their faulty products :( This faulty batch of iPad Air 4 made so many people frustrated.

If I can remember all the stuff I've disabled I'll try re-enabling it all and then let the battery drain to empty as worked for you.
If that doesn't work for me, then I'll just selectively disable things this time to see if I can zero in what's key to getting the standby-mode consumption down to that ~1/2%/hour that I achieved above when pretty much everything was disabled.
Hi all, another iPad Air 4 user and I noticed since day one that my iPad Air 4 battery life is poor, it’s less than my previous Air 3, even though screen time shows a good amount of screen on time, I have seen even 9hrs 34 mins and I see on regular basis over 7 hrs. I do charge overnight and I use a older 10w charger left over iPad 6th generation but I also use it’s original 20w charger too, no matter which one I use the results are the same, shorter battery life than expected while using it, don’t know about standby as I never noticed anything abnormal. Today I used the iPad for about 2 hrs in the morning, browsing the net, battery went down from 100% to 76%, I left it for another 2 hrs and battery was 73% then I started using it again and battery went quickly down to 63% and the iPad had an excessive heat on the one corner of the screen, the battery it’s exactly under this place and seems was not happy for some reason. I have all correct settings done for best battery life and it’s the first time I experience this strange event since 3 weeks of ownership. I will keep an eye on it and will report if anything interesting happens that might be of any help to you.
Noticed that the sleep/wake function does not work on iPad 4 I have changed the cover 3 times and the function still does not work... did what Apple suggestion turning lock/unlock off then on and still none of my covers function with the iPad 4 (iPad 4, 256gb, wifi only) never had any problem with other iPads pro or air
I have the iPad Air 4 wifi only, 256gb and I am having battery drainage problems and when charging, the I pad is warm in the corner... iOS 14.2...
