Apple Mail vs.Charter/Spectrum

Charter mail is accessible at Spectrum.net but the same account add information does not work with Apple Mail on either desktop Macs or iPhones and iPads. About two years ago another community member posted this problem and was told by Spectrum that the problem was in Apple Mail's automatic populating of the login data and would require an Apple Mail update to resolve. As I am still experiencing this problem with Mail on Mac OS and iOS has any other solution been found?

Open Keychain Access in Utilities, Enter the part after the @sign in the search bar, then either check those Passwords under those items, change them, or delete it and start over.


You may have multiple entries.


The Password rejection can confuse people since it's a catch all meaning...

 

This Password, Username, Authentication method... is not recognized on this Port to this Server.

 

If WebMail works in a browser, it's not Name or Password, but one of the other ones.


Or Keychain has more than 2 entries for that account one incoming, one outgoing.
