Cannot get Table of Contents to show on Mac.

Followed the instructions on the Apple site. Books on Mac does not work this way. Cannot get TOC to show either by clicking on the icon OR by the "CommandT" option. Have rebooted and restarted. Still does not work

Pages 10 on Mac - Problem with TOC on New Templates I am trying to insert a Table of Contents in a Pages document. I tried some of the new templates - like photo book. I want a TOC so I checked Document Body in the Document tab. I formatted the headings on the pages that I want to appear in the TOC. The "View" button/TOC shows all of the headings that I want in the TOC. However, when I click "Insert," I receive the message, "The table of contents is empty because you aren't using the paragraph styles set to appear in it. The TOC works if I use a basic template. But not in the new ones I tried. Looks like that you can't reset the document body to enable the auto TOC feature.

New Mac Book Pro will not open docx files When I retired, I put personal files on a flash drive. I can download the files, but the doc and docx files will not open. "Cannot open files at this time". I tried opening the files with the LibreOffice, did not work. Any suggestions? Thanks so much.

Double click on the book (a pdf book is in this example) so it opens in its own window. Move the cursor to the top and click on the Table of Contents button:

Duh! Of course I’ve done that. Doesn’t work. I rebooted, tried again. Still doesn’t work. Closed the book, opened another book - still doesn’t work.
