Homepod suddenly can't access my Apple Music library.

Last week, I began to have this issue. I'll ask Siri on my Homepod to shuffle or play my library, and she'll say, "Playing all songs, shuffled," or something to that effect. Then, after a moment, she says, "Sorry, there was a problem with Apple Music." This just began two weekends ago. Before that, if I asked her to shuffle my library, she'd do it.

As far as troubleshooting goes, I feel like I've tried everything. I've done a full reset of my Homepod more than once. I've gone into its settings to make sure it's on the same WiFi as my iPhone. When I ask Siri to shuffle my library anywhere else, she does so with no problem. It's only on my Homepod. Also, she has no problem shuffling or playing specific playlists I've created in my library.

My Homepod version is 14.1, according to the settings in my Home app.

I FOUND THE SOLUTION! Here was my problem: after resetting it’d work for a little bit and then stop. The problem was that I was using my HomePod to connect to my Apple TV to listen to music. It doesn’t work that way. You’d have to switch your audio output back to the tv in order to tell Siri to play music or else she’ll say, “okay, playing music. I’m sorry, something seems to be wrong with your Apple Music.”

I am also using my HomePods as a stereo pair for an Apple TV and experiencing the same issues. I'm signed in to Apple Music on my phone and my Apple TV.

Siri responds to all of the following commands with "I didn't find that on Apple Music":

  • "Hey Siri, play Daft Punk"
  • "Hey Siri, play Daft Punk's latest album"
  • "Hey Siri, play Get Lucky by Daft Punk"
  • "Hey Siri, play something"

I've had similar issues. I only bought my HomePod Mini a few days ago and am considering returning it as it seems a bit pointless at the moment.

I subscribed to iTunes Match and have about 6000 songs on there at present. I've bought about 350 songs too.

If I say, "play some music", it'll play from my library.

If I say, "play some music by <x>", it'll say there's a problem with Apple Music, even when it was playing a song that was by the same artist that I've just heard in the song previous.

I've had a trial membership of Apple Music in the past and am not bothered about having it again, but I'd been hoping that it wasn't a prerequisite, especially if you're using Match. I have a reasonable CD collection which I've ripped and didn't want to have to pay further to listen to something I already own.

This is happening to me as well. I have two sets of paired HomePods in a room (total of 4), with one pair set paired with Apple TV (that's a mouthful). Anyway, buggy as ****. I was hoping that iOS 14.5 would resolve it.

My wife wants to play Amazon echo (which is never buggy but plays off one speaker) while my almost $2,000 Apple HomePod sound systems is hit or miss. Come on Apple - this needs to get resolved if you want to sell pairs of multiple speakers!

This quite possibly may be the issue I am dealing with - Apple HomePods being unresponsive to playing Apple Music.

I have a mesh wifi system with 5 Linksys Velop nodes (one parent, four child nodes). I will do some more researching before flipping the switch but here is the webpage that covers it: https://www.linksys.com/us/support-article?articleNum=243548

Access point mode for Linksys Velop occurs when you change to bridge mode. Has anyone tried this and reached a successful result?

I bought New Homepod mini last month, everything as working fine since i had a apple music subscription, and whenever i used to ask her to play any specific song or any album she did it but since today morning its just telling my 'This is not available in apple music" im so frustrated with a new device!

I did everything reboot reset, wifi reset, setting with another Iphone and other settings also, but nothing works.

It does shuffle my library on apple music but wont take any specific artist/song/album request anymore i.e on 14.5 now.

i dont know till when will it be fixed!
