iPad battery drains quickly when using notes app

When using my iPad pro 2020 to write notes with Apple Pencil on the notes app, my iPad is becoming very warm and the battery drains very quickly. For example, I used my iPad for approximately 1 and 1/2 hours and the battery went from 49% to 5%, then I charged it to 100% and in around 2 hours it went down to 47%. Is anyone experiencing the same problem? And if yes, what did you do? Thanks in advance mri145
