Apple Broadcom Built-In Bluetooth in Device Manager not showing

I’m unable to get any bluetooth devices to connect to my macbook pro 13 (2017) running windows 10.  The bluetooth product & Vendor ID: VID: 0x05AC ---- PID: 0x007E

Here are the steps I’ve taken.

  • Downloaded the latest bootcamp drivers on Mac O/S side and ran a ‘repair install’ on windows using them.  Rebooted.  No change.
  • Windows device manager, under Bluetooth,  “Apple Broadcom Built-in Bluetooth” does not show (even temporarily).
  • Bluetooth Radio > Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power > unchecked

  • Windows device manager, under Network Adapters,  “Broadcom 802.11ac Network Adapter”.  > advanced > Bluetooth Collaboration is not an option
  • Driver 7.77.119.0 ( have tried rolling back, this did not help.)
  • Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power > unchecked

This thread is very similar https://discussions.apple.com/thread/251394916 however the user appears to at least initially be able to connect the BT device, suggesting it was related to the power save feature.  I am not even getting that far.

Any suggestions welcomed.
