From your Home Screen, swipe left until you get to the App Library.
Swipe downward and you'll get an alphabetical list of your apps.
Locate the app in the list or type the app name into the search field
Once you've located the app, tap/hold until it raises/selects, then drag it and it'll pop out to your Home Screen

the 'new feature' certainly has it's utility for me. I have over 300 apps on my phone and don't regularly use them all. Removing from Home Screen is a great way for me to clean up my Home Screen
This is what helped me- Go to settings>>Go to general>>scroll down to reset >> press reset Home Screen layout
Chris0107's response worked well. The only suggestion is to add "swipe left - to get to the screen on the phone's FAR RIGHT side. This will then show your app library and then you can move it from the library to your home screen. When I did this procedure it automatically added it to the screen and I did not need to physically move it. Thanks for the on this.
swipe left means you should go right:) there you will find all app and can readd the icons to your homescreen.
I had a problem with restoring an icon to Home Screen (podcasts) as others have posted. Could only get opportunity to “open” from AppStore but not download. Found I could fix it by going to podcasts in IPad settings General then tapping on it, then turning on “reset identifier”. The icon appeared on the Home Screen again after the next time I opened podcasts from the AppStore. Might help someone else.
I figured it out!! If you go back into the app store, open the app, then exit out of it you can find it in the bar where the frequently used apps are shown. You long press it, then press ‘add to home screen’ and wallah! Your app is back.
No, you have to go all the way to the right on the screen and you will see app library there.
Settings > General > iPhone Storage > wait for page to load up > scroll down to app list > tap on app > delete app
Then go to app store and download again.
I assume you deleted it with the "bouncy icon" X, or the long press, then remove app.
If so, go to the app store, search for the app, and download it again. If it is a paid app, you will not need to pay again.
Go to settings then tap on general and then scroll all the way down and tab reset and then select reset home screen layout.
you issue will be resolved
Try going to Settings app. General. Iphone Storage. You can delete/offload app and redownload it! :)
glad to be of help!
Yep, you got it.. swiping left is swiping from the right side of the screen toward the left side of the screen..
By swiping left, you arrive at the next home screen to the right.. App Library being the farthest right screen.
If the only open is to open it, then it’s hasn’t been deleted. It is on your phone somewhere.
Any app in the App Library can be brought out to your Home Screen. Scroll up and read my post for instructions
I think the only way for now will be delete it and add it back. To delete it go in settings->general->iphone storage-> find the app click on it and choose delete
Make sure your finger is swiping to the left. It should say App Library at the top
