Keyboard not working on MacBook pro

I have a 2019 13 inch MacBook Pro purchased in April 2020. Yesterday the keyboard stopped working. I restarted it and was not able to type my password in. So I shut it down and restarted it resetting the SMC. The keyboard worked long enough to type my password in, and open up Safari, but then everything kind of paused and it stopped working again. I’ve tried several times to restart the SMC (both ways for a security chip and without bc I’m unsure if I have one) and the PRAM, and I’ve also tried command r to restore my OS. None of them register the keys I’m pressing. The trackpad was also working fine. Now the mouse moves when I’m swiping, but tapping does not work to select, and I have to press the mouse buttons at the bottom of the trackpad. Any tips or suggestions before I schedule an appointment? All available near me are several days away and I use this for work so I’m trying not to lose access to it for an extended amount of time.

Use an External Keyboard:

Reset both the SMC and the NVRAM using an external, hardwired Apple keyboard. You might need USB-C-to-USB Adapter, depending if your Mac does not have a USB-A Adapter. Also, it might take up to 3 tries for a successful reset of each. So, be certain you have the time to do so.
