After Catalina OS 10.15.7 download my HP scanner won't work anymore...

After the recent Catalina OS 10.15.7 download my HP printer was axed. But thankfully with the help of DiZoe I got the printer back up via his great instructions.

Today I tried to scan and another Klingon message was received: "Scanner reported an error. The operation couldn't be completed. com.apple.imagecapture error704." My scanner is part of my HP F1480 Deskjet printer

Is there anyone out there from The Borg who has an idea how I can use my scanner again? Thanks in advance for your help.

Mac mini, macOS 10.15

Open >System Preferences>Software Update

Update: HP Printer Software 5.1 should now be becoming available through Software Update to fix this issue.

or Apple direct download:

If you still have an issue, and listed as AirPrint printer, delete the existing printer in

> System Preferences> Printers & Scanners, and add it again, select AirPrint.

Hi Leroy, you are absolutely right, the HP Printer Software 5.1appeared in my System Preferences right after I received your reply. After I download this I will let you know if the scanner works again. 'Our species can only survive if we have obstacles to overcome.  You remove those obstacles. Without them to strengthen us, we will weaken and die." — Captain Kirk. I wish Apple wouldn't take the captain so seriously... 😳Thanks again!
