Mouse pointer size on iOS 14.2

Same issue with me as well. Magic Keyboard touchpad not working and is laggy. Quite frustrating.

Yeah. There will probably be a bug fix update within a few days or weeks tops. It’s still super annoying though.

I felt feeling like that. The pointer size magic keyboard trackpad iOS 14.2 was bigger than previous. I hope next iOS version will be Okay in this case. Sai Tun Tun, Myanmar.

14.3 Didn't fix for me. Ended up having to disable Assistive touch again. I was so hopeful

I also noted that when the cursor is big, other things won’t work correctly with the track pad of the magic keyboard. Scrolling up down is lagging.

The cursor wont adapt to text or selections. Touch to clic don’t work everywhere.

It’s a total mess.

Well,, who knows, might be just another piece of the puzzle to solve, and even a separate issue. Thanks for the article; I suppose it’s possible that this part of the issue, although I don’t think that the apple magic keyboard runs on BT. It directly connects to the smart connector. In any case, I hope Apple is looking at these treads and plans on addressing the issue soon. We paid way too much money for our keyboards to be so buggy with this latest update.

Actually, Fj1811, it does use Bluetooth. “Apple Magic Mouse 2, Magic Keyboard, Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad, and Magic Trackpad 2 work wirelessly with your Mac via Bluetooth when they're paired and turned on. If your devices came with a new iMac, they're already paired with the computer.May 30, 2018”

Thanks for the reply. I am using the new apple magic keyboard for my iPad (floating keyboard), and it works without Bluetooth (it is a smart connector device). I have several issues with the magic keyboard after the last update, so I suspect the problem is not unique to BT. Cheers!

Thanks , I too have floating keyboard. Guess i thought the keyboard still worked via internal BT communication with smart connector and that the smart connector really only mostly powered pencil and backlighting. Cheers to you too. Thanks for your observations.

Yes Andre.. absolutely same here... but just don't disable the touch gesture .. it won't let you scroll up down or sideways on various apps... In plain words it would just block the assistive touch from functioning well....

Seriously Apple.. God... What happened man... we use iPad for it's device compatibility and seamless performance... this cursor size is nothing less than an eclipse man.. and confusing too... pls give back the previous pointer device settings...

believe it or not.. this update is also restricting other mouse features as well... scrolling is not good any more ... sometimes it's just not working to be honest.. like in the settings app..!!!

Well put. I’m holding out for fix. I have too much involved to do a clean install and reinstall everything. I have approx 300 apps and data. Downgrading from Betas might also cause problems but I suspect not enough diligence is their accessories working with software. To me they also have lost touch with ipads in favor of iphones. Seems there are more new implementations on ios 14 that were done for iphone and less on iPads

Correct. The magic keyboard has continued to behave as expected since the restore. It's a bloody nuisance having to start from scratch again, but functionality takes priority over all—for me at least, in this moment.

I’m not 100 % of this,, but about 5 minutes ago, I tried Assistive Touch again, and somehow, without an official patch, things are back to normal. I will work with it for the next half an hour to see if by chance I have mispoken. Has any else experienced this problem being fixed sometime today?

When I stop to think of it, why do i get the impression that there are very few people complaining about our problem. Number of posts are small compared to the number of ipad magic keyboards that were sold and in use. Why isn’t our problem getting more attention in the press? Considering the price of these keyboards and people not happy about paying that price, and moreover losing functionality, I don’t get it. Maybe everybody else has found that simple fix? I thought me for a while , then things progressively started creeping back in again. I have no problems on an iphone with this Assistive touch, but then again it’s not an ipad and doesn’t have a keyboard tethered to it
