Magic keyboard cursor after iPadOS 14.2 updated
The magic keyboard cursor icon become bigger compare to previous version. Try to change in the setting but it was the minimum for it. Hopefully next update will change it back to normal.

Ok, found a temporary workaround until they fix it with a new update. Make sure to disable AssistiveTouch via Settings > Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch and the pointer should turn back to normal.

There are 2 options to set it back to before: 1. Turn off “AssistiveTouch”, which fixes the problem but also disables custom buttons and other nice functions. 2. Turn off “Perform Touch Gestures” and let AssistiveTouch on, you will still have custom buttons and the other functions from AssisstiveTouch. The only thing is that it makes opening Safari from dock and opening a new tab in safari a bit laggy/buggy.
You can also report the problem to https://apple.com/feedback. I hope they update soon.
After I update to IpadOS 14.2, I have a lot of problems with my magic keyboard, really I can't use it because the pointer got bigger and most time pointer doesn't work. I want to apple fix it as soon as possible,
Thanks for the workaround - it did fix the issue with the size. However, there are still a lot of issues with mouse after updating to iPad OS 14.2: mouse buttons stop working randomly, and the only way to restore their functionality is to reboot.
I think its not a bug but actually a fix - previously we needed to have assistive touch on to enable mouse support - now apple keyboard mouse support is native without need to enable assistive touch. It fixes little bit annoying home button that was appearing each time you took iPad off the keyboard case and there was no way to disable it
I’m using a Magic Mouse with an iPad which has a broken sleep button so AssitiveTouch is needed
To my surprise, the mouse cursor icon has become much bigger since the update to iPadOS 14.2
The only fix, which is also a stupid one, is to turn off AssistiveTouch so that the cursor icon can go back to normal again
In short, I have to switch on and off AssistiveTouch every time I need to use my iPad with the Magic Mouse
Ridiculous! Apple, what have you guys been doing? There are just way too many technical glitches everywhere across all product categories and assortments
I’m a loyal Apple consumer. Please do something. Don’t ever be complacent
Please bring it back to normal, editing on iMovie is so awkward because of a large cursor. Yet disabling assistive touch will also disable touch gesture which means I can’t move videos with my trackpad/mouse. I still needed to touch it. Please fix this ASAP. We’re trying to be productive here. Thank you.
Thank you so much 👍 for this quick solution.
but after the 14.2 update trackpad response is not as before, I have to disconnect ipad from keyboard after every unresponsive freezing. Hope apple look in to this soon 👍👎
Hello, same thing with a logitech folio touch plus A LOT of other issues, the touchscreen becomes unresponsive, 2 fingers scrolling come and goes, how can apple let this go ......The ipad is back in a case with a bluetooth keyboard because (in my case anyway) of the constant aggravation....👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
Hi, if your pointer is still very big at the smallest settings, you might want to consider disabling(if it is indeed activated🤦🏻♂️) assistive touch, that fixed , among other things, the size of the pointer for me.
Good luck!
Hi, Thanks for sharing that! You are right , in my case i cannot open safari at all from the dock and overall performance seems to be affected...🤷🏻♂️Would have been nice to have the virtual menu from assistive touch back though! Apple seems in no hurry to fix this......
Take care!
I have the same problem plus trackpad click neither tap not working :(
Thank you for posting this solution.
Thank you for posting workaround, all ok now
I have the same problem. The problem started when I updated my IPad to iPads 14.2
