I'm having a problem installing watchOS 7.1 on my apple watch 4. It fails half way through the preparing, giving an error saying I'm not connected to the internet. I check and I am connected. I tried turning off wifi on the watch and downloading from the watch, same failure. I tried downloading from the watch app and still got the same error. Please help.
See my post above. No issues found with either phone or watch current beta versions. Watch battery life perhaps slightly improved. Apps that I use functioning normally. Cardio fitness now available. Looks like a worthwhile update with the big bonus that it does actually install and does so quickly and smoothly.
I also have the same issue with watch series 4. I have iPhone 7 plus with iOS 14.2.
I tried for 2 days to update and didn’t work. I restarted the watch and still didn’t work . The out coming message is ‘ The watchOS update couldn’t be verified because you are not connected to the internet.’
Thanks for the information, I guess we will have to wait for Apple to find a fix.
Did not work for me but glad one of us was successful (from a Windows guy for eons).

The watch tells me to update it from the phone.
Same issue: "The watchOS update couldn't be verified because you are not connected to the Internet".

I tried this and it was a waste of time. It didn't work.
With the latest 7.1 OS unable to send messages over whatsapp.. it shows as sent on the watch however the recipient doesn’t receive it nor does it show on the sender’s phone .. very frustrating
This problem is not solved. Please help us. We are in the same situation!
Pence que era yo solo estoy pasando por el mismo problema, actualice a iOS 14.2 y cuando fui a instalar watchOS 7.1 se descarga muy bien y cuando se va a instalar en mi Apple wasch serie 4 me da un fallo con la conexión a internet, ojalá se resuelva pronto
