I've just started using Mac mail. Mails are being received fine, but new mails are being shown already read (No bold, no blue dot). I'm missing mails as a result.
All mailboxes are IMAP
I've created a smart mailbox for unread mail - that doesn't show them.
I've rebuilt the mailboxes.
Anything else I can try?

Somthing else I've just noticed. The smart mailbox (unread mail) shows a count of 27 items as unread next to it, but only displays 12.
I'll try that later.
I have just noticed, that immediatly a mail arrives it is marked unread, but then changes to read automatically without being touched. (No mail selected in side bar)

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?
Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.
If you have no POP accounts & they’re all IMAP accounts then in Mail’s Mailbox menu choose Rebuild.
