windows 10 wont pair with apple keyboard

So I have an addition to the previous resolution posted by William Roberths (see below):

I just had this same problem. Here's how I fixed it:

  • In Windows 10's bluetooth settings (can be found in system tray), click on the icon and then click "Add Bluetooth Device".
  • Then, on the Apple Wireless Keyboard, hold down Command + W, while Windows is searching for bluetooth devices.
  • Then (hopefully) after it finds your Keyboard, it will want to pair with it. Follow the on screen prompts and eventually you will have to type in a pairing code.
  • Type in this code and hit Return.
  • Your Keyboard should successfully pair with Windows 10 via the Mac's Bluetooth

Hope this helps you out.

Will

During the (above) pairing process, when I first started out, I was given a "PIN" on the windows machine, which I would then type on the mac keyboard. It would not sync properly. After a few attempts though, something changed (I'm not sure what) and I was given an "enter PIN code" on the windows machine. I obviously didn't have a PIN, so I made one up: 12345678. I clicked OK, then quickly typed "12345678" on the mac keyboard and hit return. Paired!
