Hi I am unable to activate my ESPN+ account on Apple TV.
I am able to visit espn.com/activate, and enter the 6-character activation code. After entering the code on the web site, I see a confirmation message saying Success (screenshot attached).
However, the Apple TV app does not refresh after entering the code.
I had a VPN on that was not playing nicely with ESPN. I changed my VPN and it worked immediately.
Check if the [same] VPN is activated on your Apple TV and on your iPhone (or whichever device is being used to access the espn.com/activate URL).
If you aren't using a VPN - check that you don't have a profile or anything that causes a conflict installed on either of your devices.

have you tried disconnecting the appletv from power for 30sec?

Yes I tried this. It did not work unfortunately.
I do believe it is an Apple issue based on the above message. My subscription is through Disney. This needs to be fixed ASAP!!

What was the resolution? I’m having the same issue and none of the troubleshooting steps that they have recommended are working for me.
I have the same problem. I think bcuz I purchased a year subscription through the Disney website, Apple will not allow ESPN+ until I add the subscription to my Apple account.
OR tvOS 14.2 has issues.
I’ve reinstalled ESPN app; shut down everything; spent two hours with ESPN tech. Problem has been escalated by ESPN. Now waiting.
