Bluetooth keyboard doesn't function as needed?

HELP... My Fintie bluetooth keyboard doesn't have the function of a regular keyboard and I wonder if this is fixable. I have a Fintie keyboard connected to my iPad Pro 12 (2017). In many applications and perhaps all of them, the cursor arrow function doesn't work like a regular keyboard. The left ◀️, right▶️, up🔼, and 🔽 keys do not move the cursor. Instead they act like the Control Tab function. Why do I need to move the cursor with these keys? Because when I make a typo and need to go back or up (without deleting) other text, I would normally use these arrows to move the cursor. Is there a fix for this problem. I wrote to Fintie but they've not responded. Is this a software, hardware problem or is this just the way it works?
