Ipod Classic

Hi Folks, Can any of you help ?

I have my beloved I-pod classic (80GB) which is working fine, However... Recently It is NOT syncing when I open my I-tunes :(

Do I understand that Apple have stopped supporting this and therefore I can't sync to this device anymore?

I'm using Windows 10

I-tunes version 12.10.10.2

My Pc recognises the device and it will charge and I can disconnect etc etc..

I've updated all USB Drivers

I've scanned the I-pod for errors etc...

So 2 Questions:

  1. Is it time to get a newer ipod!
  2. or...in preference, is there a fix for this ?

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you :)

Try iOS device not showing in iTunes for Windows - Apple Community. Despite the title the same steps can help with a classic.

Well, I have no idea what I did, But... It's finally fixed! ... Here's to another 15yrs of my beloved ipod classic!

I think I ended up deleting the drivers and re-installing them - Coupled with remembering to restart the PC, It seems to have done the trick!

That said, now have a slight issue with playlists and actual syncing properly... But that's a challenge after another glass of wine.

Thanks for your support.
