ios 14.2 carplay issues

Thank you. I disabled assistive touch and that solved the issue. I wish Apple fully tested their updates before sending them out. There’s no excuse for an update to cause a problem that wasn’t there before. I have never had a problem with using assistive touch with car play until the update.

Disable assistive touch and that should fix the problem. Hopefully apple will fix the issue on a new OS build

Over a week now and no more issues with CarPlay. It has to be BT- forget on ur device and delete off vehicle (also delete setup in CarPlay). Hook to USB and be good to go.

After installing the ios 14.2 update, the navigation button in my car, the transition between the carplay menus and sub-menus were not entered. The problem was resolved when I inactivated the Assistive touch. Thank you.

Disable "Perform Touch Gesture" in assistive touch and that should fix the problem. Still can enable assistive touch...

I have an iPhone X and recently upgraded to IOS 14.2 and had a different upgrade caused problem. The CarPlay would load but I could not use the audio knob on the control to select menu items. I would have to select music, podcast, phone etc. on my iPhone to get a different menu item. However, disabling the assistive touch under settings, accessibility resolved my problem. Thanks

I ended up doing a hard re-set of all settings about a few days ago. It has resolved the problem on my iPhone XR for the time being, but unless Apple fixes the issue in the next update, I'm afraid it is only a matter of time before it happens again. We should NOT have to re-set our phones to get them to work with CarPlay.

I did a hard reset on my iPhone 6 plus and that fixed it on both my cars where neither worked before

Assistive Touch was never enabled. I finally just did a hard re-set and it seems to have taken care of the problem...at least for 30 minutes. If issues re-appear, I'll let you know.

I have the same problem. Carplay applications cannot be selected when Assisivetouch is turned on. Even if I turn off Assisivetouch, carplay does not work properly, shuts down by itself, freezes, disconnects, does not work properly, not stable.

Regardless of what community specialists are suggesting to fix the error, we should not have to go through all these settings changes to get CarPlay to work. 11/28 and still experiencing issues. Get it fixed apple.

It is unbelievably that almost every time these “upgrades” I will say “downgrades” come there follow a lot of issues with the adjustments :-(

With this latest upgrade I got problem with my CarPlay and maps - have now installed the good old GPS maps in my car!

Assistive touch is off.

I am having the exact same issues. I have done all of the above listed things and nothing works.
