Problem opening a pw protected document from my iMac

What’s happening with me since the latest update is that a locked (pw protected) document on my iCloud, when unlocked with the correct password, gives me the message, “decryption failed (null)”. But, when I unlock the message on my Mac, then go to my “files” on either my iPhone or iPad I am once again able to open the Word document.

Any idea how I can keep a Word document secure by locking it with a password but will still be able to open it on my portable devices with the password as I used to be able to do?

Found a work a round to this issue in the following article. Basically, save the doc to iphone files, or in pages, then after downloaded on phone, will prompt for password, and it opens.

I had the same issues few years ago and later on it was fixed. With the new upgrade i now have the same issue redeveloped. Evidently the upgrade introduced a deficient mechanism and made it crippled again.

Need opening of passworded Word docs attached to emails to be re-enabled when using phone and iPad. This is taking too long to sort out.

I'm having the same problem when I try to open the password protected file on my iPhone or iPad, but it opens on my desktop PC. Still will not open on iPhone or iPad when it's open on the PC. I hope they come up with a fix soon.
