ipad crashes our internet connection

a week or so ago my wife’s iPad started making our internet drop - at the modem not just WiFi. We have 2 computers, 4 Roku devices, 3 phones. If she leaves her iPad in airplane mode we can do everything on all devices simultaneously as I have worked from home for years and have a business class cable connection.

within seconds of her turning her wife back on everything in the house goes offline and the actual “online” link light on the cable modem goes off. This Spectrum modem does not even serve our wireless directly - we all connect to a Netgear AC1200 that then connects to the modem.

any ideas?

she is running iOS 14.2

Hello kkessler2001,

Thanks for that info and for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If we understand correctly, you are having an issue with the internet modem used with your separate Wi-Fi router and your wife's iPad. To help with this, please make sure you have the recommended settings for the modem and Wi-Fi router and then contact Spectrum directly for help with their modem:

Cheers!
