Smart Cover can’t wake/sleep the ipad

I have an iPad Air 4 (iPad os 14.2). The Smart Cover can’t wake/sleep the iPad. I don’t see the “lock/unlock” in “Display & Brighness”. Can you give me a solution for it ?

Hey Vetero,

It sounds like you're having some trouble with your iPad waking up with the Smart Cover.

You're correct that the setting to adjust should be in Settings > Display & Brightness, according to About the iPad Smart Folio and Smart Cover - Apple Support. The option you're looking for is a toggle to Lock/Unlock. If you don't see that option try restarting the device: Restart your iPad - Apple Support. If you still don't see that option, do you see the option for Auto-Lock?

Keep us updated.

Related to the iPad cover and not the iPad OS setting, I have found that some brands of covers have their magnets in the wrong location.. meaning the case magnet and the iPad's magnet don't properly line up. If off slightly, the screen on-off feature won't work properly. I have a Fintie cover and that works properly. I had tried a few other brands with my new iPad Air 4 and those covers won't work reliably with the screen on-off feature due to faulty designs of their magnets. Try a different brand of cover, like Fintie, and it should work.
