My iPhone 12 keeps asking for email password

Check the Outlook server issue, if any. This has nothing to do with an iOS device.

I have just deleted my hotmail, live & outlook accounts as these were the only ones giving me the issue. I then re-added them and so far, no more pop ups! Watch this space.

I am having the same problem. New iPhone 12! I have 10 email accounts, not just with outlook, and the phone keeps asking me to input my passwords nearly everyday. It won’t store them. Really frustrating!

I have same issue. I have over 10 email accounts from Hotmail, Gmail and my dedicated company outlook email addresses and every day I get same pop ups.

Worked fine on my old iPhone 7+ with ios14, but since moving to iPhone 12 Pro with IOS14.2 I have nothing but issues

This has happened for quite a few years with apples products and is so frustrating. Ive checked outlooks server status and they appear to be fine so it has to be something to do with how apple handles the email handover. I’m not holding my breath on it being fixed as i say its happened for so many previous generations of phones 😒

my gmail account never has any issues it just seems to be outlook. This has now happened every day for the last couple of weeks more than normal.

Yes, absolutely an iOS issue. I removed the accounts and added them back again which seems to resolve it for a few days but it comes back again.

iOS 14 has been the worst update I have ever had; it has caused so many problems and lost data, absolutely fuming but Apple just say, effectively "you fix it" i.e. wipe your device of all data and restore from back up etc

Good to read that I’m not the only one who gets crazy about it. My corporate Exchsnge email account seems not affected, neither my Gmail and imap acchounts, but I need to re-enter my Hotmail (Exchange) passwords (4 accounts) almost 2-4 times a day. Entering password manually works slightly better than using the Authenticator. All happens since I updated from 13.7 to 14.2. I’m regretting the update, but can’t go back unfortunately...

This is ridiculous, I just had this again on my iPad, my husband on his iPad, and after speaking to family, they are also having problems! That’s devices in 4 different households with the same problem! This is an iOS problem and needs to be fixed!

Several have tried removing and re-adding the account, but no mention if they rebooted in between. Hopefully it's as simple as that!

Though I will say, it's not uncommon for companies to point the finger at someone else in defense as a first step... will be interesting to see if that's the case here, or if the steps truly resolve the issue.

I am Microsoft Partner and have seen nothing that end to say it's their problem but I do know that Apple doesn't give other vendors a lot of time to ensure things work before they release a system update!

Agreed!! Absolutely an IOS14 problem. Happens to me every single day. Both; iphone and Ipad.

I used to happen on some previous ios but once you put the password it stopped. This one doesn’t seem to be fixed yet.

I have the new iPhone SE. In the past 2 weeks approximately, it started asking for the passwords for several of my email accounts. It does not seem to be just a Microsoft acct or a gmail acct - and it is random. I have tried deleting the accounts off my phone and reentering them but no change. Please look into this. It seems it may be related to one of the last IOS updates.

I believe this has to do with Hotmail/Live/outlook AND dual verification that prevents unauthorized access. It only affected email & passwords where I have two-step verification. My passwords in my iPhone setting is correct and up to date so my phone has it.

Can apple IT person please check if the ms provider of emails changed their settings related to securing MS email accounts?

I have an iPhone 12 w/ 14.2.1, and this issue is happening every day. It only impacts the email accounts that I have with Microsoft. Email accounts with Google, or other providers don't have the issue.

It happens to my Hotmail.commaddress as well as outlook.com. They may share the same servers since Microsoft merged outlook and Hotmail. It also happens sometimes on my work address which is hosted through EarthLink and has nothing to do with outlook. All my apple devices started having the issue at the same time. Weird that it comes up when I’m not even using email. The strangest part is when I try to send an email with my @firesys.com address (hosted through EarthLink ) it says cannot send mail because password is wrong. I check and the email still went through but message keeps coming up. No issues on any of my android or windows advise. Hard to believe it’s not an Apple issue
