Apple SDD doesn’t my Macintosh HD

Hello everyone,

I tried to install windows 10 on bootcamp and just before I was able to install windows while my MacBook already booted into the installation, I click on the power button of my MacBook without attention to do it. Now I have the flashing folder showing up. However if I click alt + cmd, My MacBook does show me Macintosh HD in the SSD section as it should but only bootcamp.

I have a 2015 MacBook running macOS Catalina.

Can someone please help me out?

The APFS volume called BOOTCAMP is invalid. Do you have a backup of your Mac via Time Machine?

Also, run

diskutil repairDisk disk0

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to find a back up. Didn’t do one recently however last year but I can’t find nothing when I go to restore with Time Machine.

You have. volume named Bootcamp used by the Catalina Macintosh HD. Did you accidentally delete the macOS partition?

You may also want to consider installing macOS on an external disk and boot from it. See How to reinstall macOS - Apple Support for reference.

I think I might have accidentally deleted it 😅. **** now I understand.

Just by rebooting MacOs with an external disk can help get the deleted partition back?

Click on Utilities -> Terminal, and post the output of

diskutil list internal

If we can get an external boot to work, it has utilities, not available in Recovery that are useful.
