Can't sync iPhone calendar entry to Mac using USB.

I am using Catalina 10.15.7 and iOS 14.2. At some point in the last few weeks I lost the ability to add a calendar entry on my iPhone and sync it to my Mac using a USB cable. I am able to make a calendar change on the Mac and sync to iPhone but not vice versa. Big problem since I make almost all of my calendar entries on the iPhone. Is this a bug? Did something change? I've been doing this USB sync without problems since I installed the first release of Catalina.

Hey there, PianoStudent.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! Thanks for posting about trouble getting calendar events to sync across your devices. We'd be glad to see how we can help.

Are these events being created on your iCloud calendar or another type of calendar? We ask because there shouldn't be a need to use the USB cable at all if they're iCloud based. Secondly, if they are iCloud based, we'll want to verify that the event appears on the iCloud site, as if it doesn't sync there, it won't sync from your iPhone to your Mac. More info on that here in If your iCloud Contacts, Calendars, or Reminders won’t sync.

Take care.
