Big Sur and brother label printer

When I installed Big Sur, I also had to replace my brother label printer. My new QL-810W was supposed to be compatible with the new system. It is, but the p-touch editor which is necessary to design and save labels crashes when I make any selection on the opening screen. So I went to a preferences page and directed it not to open that page and now it simply crashes when launched. I spent an hour on the phone with brother and they finally said to contact Apple. I wonder if the Ap Store copy version was updated slightly but not on the store. The version is 5.3.2 (558). The technician was sure that they had tested it and it ran.

Brother finally released version 5.3.4 which is working perfectly fine with my old QL-500 on M1 Big Sur.

I am having the same issues. My only way around it, for the time being, is to take a photo of my label, crop & edit it (as clear as possible) in photos....then go to my Brother Printer App and open up Saved Labels, tap label, +, image, select from album....and tap the photo of my label, center it and print. .I am doing all this on my iPhone which is connected to my printer through bluetooth. I don't know what else to do for now??

The whole new Brother software for Big Sur is a *misery*.

My labels are damaged, all logo's are gone. And printing with numbers, I cannot get it to work properly. This really really frustrates me and led my blood pressure rise to 200 !

The heck, don't they test at Brother? They certainly never ever have made a label themselves.

Why does the whole world have to use unfinished software? I am sick of all this misery with all these updates over and over again. Pity to see for a company to sink this deep after years and years of making very good products. It certainly is no Big Sur issue, this is purely a Brother issue. If I managed there, someone went over my desk !

Look at this picture: It is a print preview. Whoaaaah, I cannot see anything.... Scale is 1:1 as I see it on my screen.

So can you guys @ Brother please fix this ? I am using tons of label tape, so I have all reason to ask.

Sorry you are having this problem. This will not help you solve your problem, but over the years I have found Dymo's printer software to be very problematic. Forever, always some problem. I have a LabelWriter 450 Turbo that finally works most of the time. (It likes to go off line.) Since Demo owns and writes their software, there is nothing Apple can do. It's not their problem. For Dymo to pretend it's up to Apple to fix it is C. S. They have always had access to all of Apple's OS requirements, but seem to never really work at it. So, in summary, I would keep leaning on Dymo or better yet, return the printer.

Same problem except I couldn't even find the support page or a way to contact them. I am having to use the iphone app which just doesn't work as well. Well there are a lot of deficiencies with it. Apple starts working with companies way in advance, esp a major software release like this so there's no excuse. But what really are the other label making options. There aren't a lot.

At least it is gratifying to know that this is not just something wrong with my system or me. So far, Brother's people have been absolutely certain that the problem is either mine or Apple's and not theirs. I am going to talk to them again tomorrow and escalate the issue. It is possible that the early November release of an updated application has not yet happened and the lowest support level people are not well informed - since they appear to be working remotely from home.
