New MacBook Air M1 and Super Ultrawide Monitor Support

So the tech specs for the MacBook Air and Pro M1 both say only connects to one external display up to 6K resolution @ 60hz.

Can one of you video gurus answer if this will be able to support a 32:9 Ultrawide monitor running 5120x1440p @120hz? Thanks for the help!

I am planning to buy LG 49WL95C-WE 49-Inch Curved 32: 9 Ultra wide monitor and wanted to know if it will work with Macbook 13 inch M1 2020 model at max resolution of 5120 x 1440? If yes, do I need any special cable to get the max resolution?

hi all,

I saw an article a few days ago, I think it was in 9to5 mac, that Apple is adding support for ultra wide monitors. Hopefully this resolves our issues.

Not sure how you’re getting 100hz when that cable to which you linked below is rated only up to 60hz (unless I missed something on their page 😄).
