Airpods keep disconnecting after installing the Big Sur update

After installing the Big Sur update, my Airpods (2nd gen) can't stay connected to my 13" Macbook Pro for more than 5 seconds. I've tried removing and reconnecting them, resetting them... Nothing seems to work. I'd like to know if this is a generalised issue with Big Sur and what else I could try to get them to connect.

I don't have any problems connecting my Airpods and getting audio from my iPhone (iOS 14).

I have the same problem. This solution however is not working for me. I just don't have 'HAL' in plug-Ins.

Anyone with another solution ?

I've had this issue with both my old first gen AirPods and my Pro which I just purchased. I think its a macOS problem because it started happening when I upgraded to big sur and my friend has the same issue
