MacOS Big Sur get stuck on 12.18 GB of 12.18GB

Did repeated attempts work for you? I am up to about ten tries, and I'm not noticing anything different about my 12.18 stuck points. I can imagine there is one computer system at Apple serves up the final bit of data and that system is overloaded or not working. A better system on apple's part would be to give us a message that things are overloaded and to come back later rather than tease us with a partial download.

I appreciate it, and thinking of this problem two ways 1) assume that a certain percentage of times it might work, 2) the other scenario is there's something particular about my situation that ALWAYS makes it appear to stop at 12.18, hang, and error out. My sample size is now about 25 total on two separate machines (2018 Mac mini, and 2018 MacBook Pro). So far, all stuck.

Hi. An IT professional here. On day 4 of working on 9 different machines in 3 different locations. All stuck on 12.18 GB. MacBooks, MacBook Pros, Mac Mini's, iMacs, ranging in age from 2013-2019. All stuck. I have had a couple load successfully, but none on the first day. Hoping we will be able to install soon.

I appreciate knowing I'm not a alone. I'm a communications pro on my end. From an ordinary user POV, I'm getting a lot of come-hither comms about upgrading, but no notes that hey some of you guys might be stuck, that's normal for now. Not a crisis, but Apple comms could have done better.

It's 3p ET on Tuesday, and every now and then I click upgrade and then wait a few minutes till we reach 12.18 and .... fail. Bet I've tried 50 times over the past few days on my 2018 Mac mini and my 2018 MacBook Pro . It's low impact, since everything is working fine, but still.

I've tried this fix probably 10 times. Every time I attempt to stop the download process and then restart it, it still says 12.18gb and the download bar looks identical.

I have not gotten the update to install yet, and I've been working on this for hours (exercise in futility I know and I've been doing other things too, but still...) - Apple PLEASE get this fixed.

Update: Tried it for the 5th time today and it just worked all of a sudden. It’s currently doing more stuff so it could still go wrong. If I remember, I’ll message this thread about the result

Mine would always start over the download from 0 what can I do?

Same with me, I'm using MacBook Pro Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015. Been waiting for days now.

Hello, I have also been facing major issues when trying to upgrade to Big Sur. My computer (MacBook Air 2020), has been having the same 12.18 gigabyte problem.

It looks like Apple just resolved the issues, mine just started to work

I did it and it stopped at 5.65 its going slower than before

Edit: it says 7 Hours remaining

I tried twice and it worked, try that.
