I've installed BigSur yesterday.
First thing I've noticed, I can't use my iPad Pro as a SideCar any more. I've went through all the check lists (iCloud account, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi...) with no bliss.
When I go to the Control Centre > Screen Mirroring, oddly enough, I can see my Apple TV, but not my iPad.
My iPad is connected to the iMac through a cable.
Any tips?

I solved it by signing out of Apple ID and then signing in again.
But Apple should really fix this bug. Now I have to wait forever for all my documents to download from iCloud...
I have this question in Big Sur, too. The solution is reopening my iPad.
Please make sure you are logged in to both devices with the same AppleID and you are on the same wi-fi network. Also make sure both devices meet the sidecar system requirements: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210380#systemrequirements
What I’ve done was to connect my iPad through the cable and I’ve waited a bit.
After a few minutes, my iPad showed up on the sidecar app within System Preferences.

Once I've connected the first time like you said, my iPad is no visible on the Command Centre.
This solution doesn’t work for me. It says “no devices” still. It always worked fine until the Big Sur update.
