iPhone 12 Pro Max not wirelessly charging

Received my iPhone 12 Pro Max today but it won't wirelessly charge on any of the three Q1 chargers I have. My XS Max and wife's X all work fine. Why is this? I have the Apple silicone case but with the case or without it still won't charge. Starts for a few seconds then the chargers flash a few times and it stops charging.

Have tried the following:

Erase Network Settings - Didn't work

Hard reset (Volume up / Volume down / hold power until Apple logo shows) - Didn't work

Seeing lots of similar posts on other forums. Perhaps the magnets are interfering and Apple just want you to get a Magsafe charger instead?

(Had to select iPhone 11 Pro Max for what device am I referring too as 12 Pro Max not listed)

Try a different power adapter - I bought a wireless charger and was having the same issues, not charging iPhone 12 Pro Max, EarPods and Apple Watch. So I switched the power adapter and used a ‘Anker’ brand Quick Charge 3.0 which solved the issue of the wireless charging for all three devices.

What charger and how old is it? Does it have dual charging plates? Is it powered by a higher watt QC3.0 charging brick?

With the position of the MagSafe charging plate in the new iPhone 12's, these are considerations that make a difference. And why when we were having issues, I replaced all our wireless chargers and for the last few weeks have had no charging issues at all.

IPhone 12 Pro Max on iOS 14.3 does not fix wireless charging for me. Purchased a new Mophie 3:1 from Apple hoping it would solve the problem but unfortunately not.

sometimes it will charge for a while then the front Led will start blinking and no charging.

Disappointed really when old XS max was never a problem. I don’t want to use mag safe either.

I purchased the mophie 3:1 and ended up giving it to my wife Her 11p max does fine on it. The GeekEra that Lobsterghost1 talked about has worked quite well. I haven’t had any QI charging issues since acquiring it. I have the clear magsafe case which I only got because it was magsafe compatible which is turning out to be relatively useless. As I am reluctant to acquire the magsafe charger because of all the complaints, I will continue on with the GeekEra for now.

I'm glad my recommendation of the Geekera is still working out well for you. It works wonderfully for both our iP 12 and 12 Pro Max. Not a single hiccup in the three weeks since we got them. No reboots nor forced restarts. Just consistently good charging.

Seems to be the one I was looking at and the description at point 8. does mention the light.

Does you unit led’s go off entirely then, nothing left lit up once items all charging, watch AirPods, phone?

From the items description on Amazon:

8. For a full play to the charging effect, and people who are sensitive to light, it needs to leave this wireless charger faraway the bedside at night. (This light of the charger is a bit bright, though it can be a small guide night light to clear the dark)

Tke it than this light is only for a few seconds and then goes dark?

Thanks for advice anyway.

Workaround:

Completely power off the phone (not just sleep).

While it remains off, place it on the charging pad.

The phone will power on automatically and charge.

My 12 Pro Max wouldn’t charge with any wireless charger/power supply combo - but starting with the phone completely off makes the wireless charging work again. At least for me.

It’s not a permanent solution but ok for overnight charging. And it gives me hope this is software-fixable.

Also doesn’t require any network resets etc.

I am as others in my household and office experiencing same issues even as we all updated to ios14.3

I spoke at length with senior apple tech and he was not aware of issues

after he researched apple knowledge base he encountered such problem

I feel apple has ignored the problem for quite a while possibly because there isn't a software fix and possibly hardware issue which would involve major recall of iphone 12 models

I was offered exchange very early on at launch with explanation that magnets not aligning that solution did not correct problem

subsequently I purchased 2 other devices along 12 line still same issues with all iphone 12 line

we have 7 QI wireless bases and they all fail at one point or other

when can we expect fix? is this going to be ignored until new 13 model rollout? is this to induce purchase of magsafe charger?

also very strange all my tech support calls are documented and I receive email with case number however this particular 90+ minutes call was never emailed back with case number

I think apple should take this issue in more serious manner and provide solution expedited

It is up to us consumers to communicate with urgency

I had the charging problems until a started using a NANAMI stand charger and no problems. My old charger vebach was not working but discovered my new case for some unknown reason would not keep charging however by accident found it works if phone face down. My wife’s 12 has no problems my phone is a 12 pro max. The Nanami is less than 20 dollars on amazon and is faster than my old charger it has fuel coils.
