WiFi Speeds (iPhone 12 Pro Max)

Anybody else having slow or inconsistent WiFi speeds on iPhone 12 Pro Max? I know it’s not my WiFi because all my other devices work as usual including my iPhone X which is still have/upgraded from.

Me too same problem.... I have one iPhone 12 Pro Max 256Gb and when I connect it to my WiFi 2.4Ghz it's really really slow and other my device, connected to the same WiFi, get a normal speed.

I tried to turn off private address, change DNS, OFF/ON WiFi and don't change nothing.

Instead when connect iPhone to 5Ghz WiFi connection everything good.

I think the problem is 2.4Ghz module, maybe one iOS update can solve this problem?

I tried this plus every troubleshooting solution with my TP-Link AX6000 router and it did not resolve this issue. Once in a while I’ll get full speed but most times I get only 1/3 of my speed (940/880) FiOS fiber optic connection. Has anyone tried working with Apple to see if we can fix it with a workaround or a future update?

@nasa311 I've reached out to Apple Support and currently is working with a support tech, hopefully something goes of it. Based on the feedback I've seen here it's certainly an issue with mesh networks, and some of the suggested fixes may not take that factor into account. It's overall weird, but I'm still optimistic it can be fixed with a software update.

Not yet, further testing on my phone 12Pro Max and Ipad Pro shows the same problem, lower than max speeds on downloads.

So to me now it is looking like an IOS issue (more than any hardware issue).

I've tried a number of things with routers, resetting, power down, hard boot on phone, privacy off.. same result my 2015 Mac book Pro still on the same wifi and location still out performs the download speed by a good margin i.e. 49Mbits-36Mbits.

I just finished up some testing with Apple support, definitely appears to be a software issue, after running some diagnostics and real time comparisons between my 12 Pro Max and iPhone X is was obvious there is a disparity. Everything points towards a firmware/software update as a fix, I hope they can use the diagnostics they pulled from my device to that end.

Any fix so far guys?

i’m from Romania ...

8-900mb on 11 Pro Max and 11, now 4-500mb on 12 Pro Max. I know for sure my network is good since i renewed all routes and cable’s changed with CAT6e last week! Two Huawei Ax3 Pro in bridge ..

One strange thing I’ve noticed is that my main router is now always slower then the one in bridge ( or not main ).

more like, main router slow and the other one working properly!!!! 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yes I’ve read this thread extensively and my symptoms are the same as everyone else’s. I’ve done all of the remediation, I have an iPhone 8 to compare to as well as an iPad Pro. All three are connected to 5G antenna of my Comcast router, and the 12 Pro Max is approximately 63% of the other two devices, sitting all next to each other 10 feet away from the router and using the same speed test server.

I guess we paid for an excellent camera!

I was having major connectivity issues with my iPhone 12 Pro Max. That situation has improved after I contacted my ISP (Xfinity/Comcast) and they sent me another router. Now I am able to connect consistently, but the download speeds I am getting generally seem slower than what I get on my MacBook Pro, unless I get fairly close to the router, where all devices get around the advertised speed (~200Mbps).

Im having the same issue, I recently upgraded to the iPhone 12 pro max, and have an iPhone X as my work phone. I installed this week an eero wifi system which lets you confirm where the device is connected to and to which bandwidth. Everytime my iPhone X has beaten my IPhone 12 Pro Max on speed tests. 30-40 mbps more. Has someone figure it out?

Wife’s and my iPhones 12 Pro Max has been having wifi issues connecting to my google mesh network it tells me it has full bars but no internet. I have a iPhone 7 and it works where my iPhone 12 pro mas doesn’t. iPhone 7 has a longer range coverage than the iPhone 12 pro max unbelievable. Considering returning devices.
