Updated to Big Sur, iCloud Notes are missing

I updated to Big Sur and the Notes are empty. The notes are on my iPhone and on iCloud when I log in on a browser, but they do not appear on the MacBook Pro running Big Sur. I've logged out, logged back in, rebooted, still no Notes. Any ideas? Thx

Notes dissapear on macOS Catalina 10.15.1 I noticed by mac notes are set to be saved in iCloud, however only my iPhone notes are stored in iCloud notes after I checked. Trying to make my mac notes appear in iCloud as well, I have unchecked the Notes checkbox in Notes->Accounts->iCloud or SystemPreferences->InternetAccounts->iCloud. After this, my mac notes disappeared completely. The notes didn't sync in cloud after all and I am not able to restore them from anywhere. I do not understand why although my notes were set to be saved in cloud already, they were not and now they are gone. Could someone offer some help with this?

Local notes missing. Hi everyone, i need help locating my notes that i've saved in my computer. I was able to view both my notes from my iCloud account as well as local notes. But somehow suddenly I'm not able to switch between my iCloud notes and local. I've tried looking into the notes preferences but i couldn't figure it out. The only thing i did recently was to upgrade my MacOS to Monterey (12.6.3) but i was still able to view it till a couple of days ago. Please help, thanks a bunch. Cheers.

macOS Notes disappeared I logged into my computer this afternoon, after having used it most of the day today, and the Notes app is totally barren. There's one automatically generated note, but no recently deleted notes and nothing in the recycle bin. I found a few files in ~/Containers/com.apple.Notes/Data/Library/Notes/, but I wasn't able to figure it out. Help please? There's nothing critically important, but would be nice to have back. Thanks!

Figured it...needed to enable 'on my mac'. Simple yet somewhat elusive ;-)
