Driver HP LaserJet 1020 MacOS Big Sur

Yesterday I installed Big Sur on My MacBook Pro 2017. At work is an old HP Laserjet 1020 printer. I installed the printer driver package from the Apple website on Catalina to work. You won't be able to install it on this version. Not support.

Hello,

I solved this problem and now my HP 1020 works perfectly with Big Sur 11.0.1 on a new MacBook Pro with the M1 chipset. I did the following:

  1. Download HP Uninstaller, HP drivers 5.1 dmg (600.3MB) and the latest version of Pacifist.
  2. Use HP Uninstaller to remove all traces of HP printer drivers.
  3. Use Pacifist to extract and install HP 5.1 drivers.dmg.
  4. Attach HP 1020 printer via USB cable and Turn ON.
  5. Open printers and scanners.
  6. Add printer.
  7. Select HP LaserJet 1020.
  8. Select software.
  9. Enter search term HP LaserJet 1022.
  10. Double-click on HP LaserJet 1022 1.6.1 driver and select Add.

The printer now operates perfectly as before!
