AdGuard knows there is an issue but they claim they can't fix it from their side… yet the problem goes away when you uninstall their software:

https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardForMac/issues/761

AdGuard was suspect because its extension was clearly mentioned in the backtrace:

Kernel Extensions in backtrace:

I was believe I was able to determined that a peripheral hardware issue caused a kernel panic on a MacPro boot-up. I was able to login following a parameter RAM reset. May have been coincidental, but I don't think it's relevant.

Just looking to help find root cause of a hardware issues. I read that PRAM stores system settings and since, I believe, color profile is a system setting, then perhaps a special startup reset sequence might address this issue, and if this does not, then maybe something is learned, like startup key sequences, or what is Macintosh Parameter RAM and it's function, then that's good too.

In any event, best of luck.

Hi, I have the same problem on Mac Pro 6.1 with Big Sur, it freezes on various occasions and then restarts. The report always mentions watchdog. I've tried everything, deleted kernel extensions, removed applications, reset pram, etc. but nothing was successful.

I have no time to waste looking for a solution to this problem.

Now I have installed Mac OS Mojave on an APFS partition of my internal SSD, reinstalled my Apps, and I work with Mojave without any problems whatsoever.

I hope Apple will fix everything with an update as soon as possible so I can get back to using Big Sur.

I'm certainly not going to waste a lot of time constantly restarting my Mac Pro and interrupting the flow of my work.

I would like an operating system that runs smoothly and professionally, without unnecessary frills.

Is 'It just works ..' a thing of the past? Really sad ..

I'm having the same issue on an iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2019).

The kernel panic only happens when the computer is asleep. I've tried different energy saving settings but can't confirm yet that this does not happen if only select the option to deactivate automatic hibernation.

There was no kernel panic while I'm working on the computer.

Things specific to my setup:

2 external monitors

128 GB RAM (Crucial)

Software which may be of interest: Parallels Desktop, ClamXav, Little Snitch, Dockers

This is pretty widespread if you do a Google search for Big Sur Kernel Panic

Hard to guess whether Little Snitch is the culprit. I have it installed. I just got an update. Will watch it.

There was another potential fix posted somewhere concerning battery settings. I hesitate to post it here only because I am always on adapter power, never on battery.

I hesitantly say that Time Machine is not the issue.

I use my 16" MBP in two locations. The desktop has a dock with an external drive for Time Machine. I also use it on my lap without Time Machine attached.

I have had kernel panics in both locations.

The kernel panics are less frequent than they were. It happens every few days rather than every day.

I still think this is an issue that could be patched in the next update of Big Sur which is taking quite a bit of time to happen.
