Fj2000, Thank you for sharing that. I solved my problem by doing what you did, going to Epson support and downloading the Mac 10.15.x Printer Driver v10.33 (for Mac 11.0.1 no less), ran the installer, then was successful at adding my printer in Printers and Scanners. Lucky you! Has Epson updated their downloads since a week or so ago? I"ll have to go check.

Now that I have Big Sur on my MacBook Pro my Epson Eco Printer ET 2550 cannot connect. It reads the printer but comes back with an error message.
MCgoetz, I went to Epson Support, keyed in my printer, workforce 610, then selected operating system of MacOS 10.15, since they don't currently have drivers for 11.0.1 (Big Sur), then downloaded driver. Hope that helps. Don (11-16-20 0700 PST)
Hi, I put OS BigSur 11.0.1 on my iMac and found that my Epson WF-2530 printer would not work so I took your advice and downloaded the Mac 10.15 Printer driver from the Epson site and Hey Presto everything now works fine including the scanner. I can only think that OS BigSur knocks out the original Epson printer driver. Very grateful for you help. Thanks
i'm sorry i thought it was for all the devices that had a problem in Big Sur, but someone else just informed me that he got in touch with epson support center and was informed that "Apple left it too late to advise/allow Epson to develop new software, will have to wait until its ready" so i guess another update will be coming soon.

You do not say which printer it is. However, using https://www.epson.eu/viewcon/corporatesite/kb/index/1018, one can check whether a certain printer has macOS 11 Big Sur support. If so, try the support page for your printer once more; Epson may have updated the contents recently. If the support page still does not have the needed driver, see this for a possible workaround:
