Fj2000, Thank you for sharing that. I solved my problem by doing what you did, going to Epson support and downloading the Mac 10.15.x Printer Driver v10.33 (for Mac 11.0.1 no less), ran the installer, then was successful at adding my printer in Printers and Scanners. So, thank you for sharing what you did, it also worked for me! Don (11-16-20 05:45 PST)

Hi,

To begin with, you may want to have a look at these articles:

Solve printing problems on Mac - Apple Support

Add a printer on Mac - Apple Support

However, I guess that you need a printer driver compatible with Big Sur.

Information at https://www.epson.eu/viewcon/corporatesite/kb/index/1018:

"Compatibility details for Epson SX235W

Your product is macOS Big Sur compatible. The product driver is available via the Epson support website.

Printer Driver: Please use v10.85 or later.

Apple Image Capture Application (ICA): Yes. Click here for support on using Image Capture with your scanner."

The problem is that a v10.85 driver is not yet offered for download via the SW235W support page. Some other printers have received updates. So, one approach, used by others while waiting for a file for their own printers, has been to search for a v10.85 driver via another (similar or not) model's web page. This should be looked upon as an experiment; it may or may not work with your printer. See, for example, the various messages under the discussion problema con la stampante Epson WF-2510 - Apple Community (if necessary, you could perhaps try a web translation service such as Google Translate).

CW_3, you downloaded the DMG file, did you open the DMG file and execute the PKG file inside so the new driver would install? If so, then ensure the printer is connected and turned on so the Mac can 'see' it. If you've done all of that, then I'm at a loss as to what to do next, other than contact Epson or Apple support. Maybe someone else on here may have other suggestions. Don (11-24-20 17:16 PST)

Hi,

There have been a couple of files released 08-Dec-2020 (on the Stylus SX400 support page), but the driver is still the v10.85 (25-Nov-2020).
