Hi

System Preferences > Sidecar > Connect to > No devices
MacBook Pro with Touch Bar
Sidecar system requirements
Sidecar requires a compatible Mac using macOS Catalina or later and a compatible iPad using iPadOS 13 or later.
Additional requirements
Someone mentioned before and worked for me: turn off your Macbook. logout iPad from iCloud totally; restart it, log in to iCloud again. Restart your Macbook. Check if they are in the same wifi, bluetooth and handoff on. Go to control center>display and it should show the iPad. Pick ir for mirroring/sidecar
Tried that with one of my iPads (neither work for Sidecar) and my MBP. No Joy. And then tried it again, the second time removing both Bluetooth pairings and then restarting both devices before pairing anew. Still no Sidecar for me...
OK finally it works. I noted that an older iPad which I still have and use occasionally, was listed with the same name as the new iPad Pro (which I used with Sidecar as the second screen while having Catalina). I removed the old iPad from the iCloud account, and after that I could connect the iPad Pro with the laptop and use it as a second screen. Whether the deletion of the old iPad was the solution or not, I cannot tell. I only know that in Catalina this was not a problem.
If I recall correctly, my original symptom is that the device simply was not detected after upgrading to Big Sur when it was wireless. It was detected when it was wired of course. After I signed out and back in to my Apple ID on the iPad, the device was then detected wirelessly but it would time out and that connection would fail. That’s when I found that my device was listed twice in my iCloud device list. Deleting the old device of the same name resolved the connectivity issue instantly.
Hi, I referred to TRE575 proposed solution,
"THIS SOLUTION WORKED FOR ME!
TLDR - Sign out of iCloud on your iPad and sign back in.
If you're trying to use your iPad as a 2nd monitor with a MacBook and Sidecar, sign out of iCloud on your iPad and sign back in. You'll receive prompts on your Apple devices to confirm the sign-in on the iPad. Afterwards, go to your MacBook where you should see a notification badge on your System Preferences. Click into Apple ID where you'll be prompted to enter your iPad passcode as well as your MacBook password. Once everything goes through, you should be able to go back to Sidecar in System Preferences and see your device as an option.
Hope this helps!"
And this worked out, straightaway, for me as well!
I tried everything I could find online: Logging in and out of iCloud. Rebooting. Turning Wifi on and Off. Everything was fine, but it still would not work. Then, I found this short message on Reddit, and to my very surprise that worked.
"Sidecar still shows 'No Devices' for me but right clicking the green minimize button on the browser window and clicking 'Move to XXX's iPad' suddenly activates Sidecar on my iPad."
Minimize a Finder window and then click in the dock the minimized icon. My iPad then showed up in the sidecar preferences connect tab.
After spending a couple days trying to get this to work, I finally turned off iCloud on my iPad and back on. That seemed to fix the issue and now Sidecar works flawlessly.
Hope this helps!
I have the same problem :-(
After other multiple problems I'm starting to realize that "Big Sure" is for sure the biggest ****.
This work! Thanks.
Mine is not working with Big Sur, too. IOt used to work perfectly with Catalina. Aplle only presents simple instructions and no fixes! Frustrating!
THIS WORKED FOR ME,
thank you
Tried this, but iPad still not showing up in sidecar
Yes I have the same issue. I got it working when I connected my iPad Air to my MacBook Air using Lightning and USB-C.
I saw it work once wirelessly before I upgraded to the latest iOS and OSX today.
Nice! It also worked for me!
Thanks!
Sign off from iCloud in iPad and sign back on see if it works if not turn off your iPad and turn it back on and it should work , worked for me
