I just update to Big Sur and Airplay to Apple TV is no longer working. Get message that I cannot connect to AppleTV. I have tried all of the troubleshooting advice including same WiFi network, Firewall settings, rebooting routers, modem, appleTV. Any suggestions.

Same issue and fixed it. I had same issue. Upgraded to Big Sur and then was suddenly unable to screen mirror to any of the 3 Apple TVs. I would get a message "unable to connect". As someone suggested, I needed to "authorize the computer" by signing into iTunes or Apple TV app. Once I signed in using Apple ID and Password, on the computer, I was now able to screen mirror to all Apple TVs.
I have tired EVERYTHING and it is still not working!!! AHHHHH this is so frustrating!!!! it worked ones and now nothing AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

I also have Norton 360, I'll try disabling and see what happens
yeah still didn't work I'm trying to share my MacBook screen to my apple tv box and nothing seems to be working
AirPlay doesn't work in Big Sur.

I’m not running any antivirus on my Mac, and this is still a Problem. I’ve restarted the Apple TV several times.
Does anybody know why AirPlay does not work for people who do not have Norton or another anti-virus/firewall software installed on macOS Big Sur?
Im in the same boat. Big Sur does not connect to the AirPlay. I dont have Norton...and I have tried all these solutions: Restart, Reauthorize, etc. This is clearly an Apple thing with Big Sur.
I hate to give up on Symantec. Had them for many years. But, I guess I'll look around. I really need Airplay for my work. I'll see what they say when I quit.
I couldn't find mirror display or airplayxpchelper where did you find these? I still have to keep vulnerability protection off for my screen sharing to work

Since I updated with Big Sur, my passport backup doesn't work, and my Apple TV doesn't work. What are the 10,000 or so Apple Computer programmers doing? Does anyone check? This is really awful.
But, does screen mirroring work? I'm sure it didn't. We need to hold Apple's feet to the fire. I'm going to try Firestick.
