iPhone 12 mini (iOS 14.2) does not show battery percentage on home screen

I tried to turn on the display of battery percentage, but it's not in the settings under Battery. What happened to it? I found it very useful. Did Apple eliminate this from iOS 14.x and the iPhone 12 series?

Your iPhone will not show battery percentage by default on your home screen. This has been the case ever since iPhone X was introduced. To see battery percentage you can do one or both of the following-

  1. Touch and Pull Down from the Top Right corner of your home screen and you will see battery percentage.
  2. iOS Version 14.x introduced widgets to be installed on home screens. You can affix the Battery Widget on one of your home screens and it will display battery percentage there at all times.

Hi Axel,

You're right. The battery percentage cannot be made to show on the home screen as it did in older iPhones. This is my first new iPhone since the 7, so it is new to me. Solution no. 1 did work, but it's less convenient. No. 2 did not work. The Batteries widget was already on my screen, but it only gives a graphical indication of battery strength of my iPhone and Watch, not a percentage.

But, yes I can see the percentage if I try.
