How to change weather location on widget; it always shows Cupertino, CA
Scroll down to the bottom of the column of Widgets, click on Edit Widgets (this button may not show until you get to the bottom of the Widgets, if the list is longer than the height of the screen). A bunch of editing options will come up. Click on the weather widget and it will flip over. You can enter the desired location in the little box and then click Done and it will flip right side up and show you the correct weather location. Then click Done at the bottom of the column of Widgets and the editing options will go away.

This did not work for me! Every time I click on the widget (currently displaying Santa Clara) it just pops another square into all my widgets — all of them say Santa Clara. It never "flips over" in order for me to edit the location. Now what? I'm on a 2020 macbook. This happened when I upgraded to Big Sur from Catalina.
Thank you very much; it worked!
Many thanks this helped me also
