second display
Is there a way to split up the interface of iMovie so I can work with a second monitor as well? (Like one does in just about any other program.)

Unfortunately, as you have found, iMovie 10 does not support dual monitors.

Hi Ian,
Thanks for replying.
Unfortunately, the link is for an older version of iMovie.
These options no longer exists.
Which is why I asked.
I simply can't find any way to utilize two screens when using iMovie. I like iMovie for quick and basic stuff, but now I reckon I have to give that up and stick to Adobe's excellent Premier Pro.
I know, I used to edit bigger professional projects in FCP, but switched to Premium Pro as it gels better with After Effects etc.
Basically any app can be split up in tools and views but not iMovie any longer. It seems,. Weird.
I suppose it's because iMovie is aimed at amateur editors who want a minimum of fuss and Apple's. ethos (apart from making vast amounts of boodle) is to simplify everything.
Very few amateur editors would ever consider or even know about using multiple screens.
This is an old article so I don't know whether it will work with the latest versions of iMovie.

Final Cut Pro allows the use of multiple screens.
