that’s not true. mine cracked without being dropped
If you feel that is the case, make an appointment to have your phone examined by Apple.
They are trained to be able to tell the difference between a stress crack or manufacturing defect and damage due to impact, and stress cracks or defects do occasionally occur as they do with any other product that uses glass.
Thus my admonition to contact Apple Support directly; only they can do anything about the issue one way or another.
Contact - Official Apple Support
Posting them here won’t accomplish anything, your evaluation of them is meaningless and Apple won’t see it. They should click on the Get Support link at the top right of this page.
Contact the nearest Apple repair location for the price of a replacement.
You didn't have to purchase a new phone, if that's what you meant, but yes, you would need to purchase a replacement.
If they will repair it for $229 then grab it quickly - that is a very good price outside of AppleCare+
Don’t worry everyone it’s only a $29 fix now . Sadly I’ve had to replace my device twice at the $100 rate but it’s no longer $100 so enjoy ☺️
Got my iphone12 pro max for 2 days, dropped it on the table it slipped from
myhand, the rear cracked badly. The height isn’t even that high from where it fell, approx 2ft. I am so disappointed. Planning to go to T-Mobile where I got my phone
I spoke with APPLE and they said it must have been dropped, which is wasn't and they have had no reported issues. The phone was 1 day old and all i did was place 2 phones back to back and it cracked with the minimal amount of contact. Def a design weakness with the back of the iPhone 12.
Dude I’ve had this dumb phone for one month and a half and the entire back is cracked because I dropped it half a foot in a inside of a phone case and the only option they’re willing to give me is replace the phone for an extra 200 dollars
IM GOING BACK TO ANDROID AND I SUGGEST EVERYONE IN THIS THREAD DOES TOO S LINE AND NOTE SERIES HAVE NEVER EVER GIVING ME THESE ISSUES DROPPED A S10 ONCE FROM 7 STORIES UP IN A OTTERBOX NP GBYE APPLE
Same issue with mine 12 pro max... it broke and I don’t even remember dropping it. I have never broken one of my phones. Then just today my wife’s 12 pro does the same thing... both had screen protectors and the Apple silicone MagSafe cases... I think there is an issue with the back glass as well.
My phone cracked the exact same way! I don’t remember dropping mine either, after talking with Apple care and their 1300 bs to replace the phone! I stuck a glass back protector on it threw it back in the case. And I do have Apple care+ for all u Apple employees who want to talk trash! Better yet just admit when your wrong! My phone was in a $100 otter box and it cracked the exact same way exact.
I have seen plenty of plus size iphones sticking out of women’s back jeans pockets in the street, but if yours fell from a sweatshirt pocket to a concrete road that would smash it for sure.
I said before, I would not spend over a thousand beer tokens on a glass phone without Applecare+
It’s not user error it’s poorly made my husbands was in an otter box sitting on the table not being touched and just shattered randomly. I have the 11 and a simple case from Amazon that cost maybe $12.00 and it has fallen many times on the floor or off my lap out of the car in the street my best friends granddaughter has thrown it many times and it is still in perfect condition no cracks but yet the “new” supposed better model just shatters sitting on the table not even touched and in an otter box.
Lmao it doesn’t take hitting it with a hammer to break there bud! Take your blinders off and read what we are saying! The back glass sandwiched between metal framing is more fragile then previous models and breaks far more easier. That’s it! No **** if u hit glass with a hammer designed to break glass the glass will break but no one is hitting there phone with a hammer.
Because of your experience you proclaim it’s more fragile than previous models?
People post that about every new iPhone when they break the glass on it, and it’s not true.
Accidental damage is why I recommend AppleCare+ to anyone buying an iPhone, plus a good case rated for drops from a good height.
