Apple support scam

How can I stop an "Apple Support" window from suddenly appearing In Safari running OS Catalina and now Big Sur? Shows up randomly, it seems, tells me I have problems with my Mac and to call a phone number. Chat window on page also. I delete history, close Safari, restart Safari and it comes back. It also comes back if I close and restart my Mac. Any suggestions?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.0

You allowed malware to be installed on your Mac. Download Malwarebytes and use the free version to scan your system to remove the culprit. Malwarebytes is considered by most of the volunteers here to be the gold standard for removing malware. The free version lets you manually scan. The subscription version automates the scanning and offers other features.
