Is there a way to hide the "filter" icon in mail. I never use it and find it annoying.

Apparently not and it annoys me enormously! Not only can't you delete it, you can't move it out of this position. That's the position where I used to put the delete button and now I am endlessly accidentally pushing the filter button. What on earth is Apple thinking when it decides that absolutely everyone must have this feature whether they want it or not?

I too find this very annoying and have yet to find a workaround. As you pointed out, it's particularly annoying that it not only doesn't let you remove the Filter icon, it puts it in the A1 first position and you can't move it. Not sure why Apple wants to put so much focus on that feature (which I RARELY use). If they don't want to let us remove it, AT LEAST let us move it to the end of the line!

I can't get rid of the 'Filter' icon either but I also note that there is no replacement 'Filter' icon option in the 'Customise Toolbar' box so for some reason Apple don't want it removed or replaced in the toolbar. Can't think why?

Hi, I don't have BS yet, try right click on the toolbar & choose Customize Toolbar, se if you can drag it off.
