Airpods Pro & iPhone 12 Pro Max freeze/crash app

This is terrible. My Iphone 12 keeps freezing when both airpods (second generation) and apple watch are connected. Only fix is to disable bluetooth on my watch. This makes my watch useless!

My 12 pro max is also crashing, although is ok with AirPods connected.

This is the 2nd day after just 1 week of very careful use (meaning it hasn’t been dropped) where it freezes on an app and I simply have to wait for it to reboot itself.

Very, very frustrating.

I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max running with iOS 14.2.1. The Airpods can be connected but neither call nor any music play can be directed to the Airpods. The control panel shows the Airpods properly present but cannot be selected. Another odd thing is that the battery level on the Airpods and the case are displayed properly. It varies from 10% to 100% randomly. I have tried on another iPhone 12 Pro Max with iOS 14.2.1, it has the exactly same problem.

I reconnected the same Airpods to the iPhone X with iOS 14.2, the Airpods connects and works perfectly. The battery level indication is also stable.

Thank you for sharing the work around and hopefully Apple will fix this critical bug in the software. This will just hurt their AirPod business if they don’t address the issue. More ppl are buying iwatch since they came out.

Yes, I figured it out too...but that sucks to keep having to disconnect your watch! Is the only way to disconnect watch is to turn it off? It’s frustrating & I hope there will be a fix to this issue soon

Mine iPhone 12 pro has been freezing too. The freezing last like 2-3 mins and not even the force restart method of the power button and the side bottom helps. After it’s done being frozen then the screen comes back to normal. In addition to that, some of my buttons don’t work when I press on it after searching an app in the search bar. Should’ve kept my old iPhone 11...

Buy the replica Airpods works better than original one, your phone won't freeze and you'll be able to listen whatever you want.

The original won't work and will freeze my phone, i thought i bought some fake crap from a guy on offer up but seems like the fake ones i got scammed before works better.

Having the exact same issue. Brand new airpods and they work with iphone 11. They will connect to my brand new i phone 12 max pro, but nothing audio will come through, music or calls. What you describe above is what I went round and round with for a couple hours today trying to figure it out. Did you ever get things to work?

Thank you for taking the time to share this information....this way I can still use the watch and don't have to turn it completely off.....I'm not of the younger generations and would not have thought of just simply turning off the bluetooth from the watch end! THANKS AGAIN!!!

My phone constantly freezes and then will refuse to let me use Bluetooth once it starts working again. I have had constant contact with Apple support who just kept telling me to reset it. They even replaced the phone but the same thing happened

Anyone figure out the fix for this? My fiancé got a pair for Christmas and it's freezing her iPhone 12 Pro Max with an apple watch connected. I tried with my iPhone 12 Pro Max with an apple watch connected and no issues with the same pair of AirPods. It connects and reconnects and works as it should with my phone.

I haven’t... Apple support online said to take it in to store, then the Apple store said they couldn’t do anything because they couldn’t test multiple devices so I should go back online... I then got sent back to the store and they said they can’t do anything because of COVID

My new I phone 12 max pro keeps freezing, takes forever to reboot

my 12 pro max keeps freezing and rebooting as well. It stays frozen for a long time and then takes forever to reboot. Happened once the first day then now it happens almost every 20 min.
