Airpods Pro & iPhone 12 Pro Max freeze/crash app

Just got the iPhone 12 Pro Max on 11/13. Paired Airpods Pro on 11/14, all was well until 11/16 and than the phone keeps freezing when I connect the airpods.

Doesn't matter what app I try playing music on or watching videos, the app freezes and than crashes a minute later. When the app comes back the process starts all over again.

I have tried forgetting the airpods from the phone, resetting them and connecting them back to the phone.

Any one else having issues on their iPhones that describes my situation? It used to happen on iPhone XR but I thought upgrading to the new iphone would solve the issue. Works perfectly fine when I use the airpods with iPad 6, no issues whatsoever with the iPad.

This is definitely the problem! The minute I turned my watch off the earbuds worked.

It unfroze my phone immediately!

This is ridiculous that I have to choose between products.

I have a series 3 watch by the way and I’ll be ****** that I buy or upgrade to a newer series just have my pods work.

Please send update ASAP!

I have almost same issue on my 12 pro max. I went to Apple Store and they gave me a new replacement phone. But still have same issue on my new phone. I notice that when I paired Apple Watch and AirPod. All audio apps keep freezing. Pair AirPod alone, they work fine. Btw my bf has same issue when he paired watch and AirPod on his 12 pro max.

I encountered the same problem, the AirPods Pro will not connect like it should to my iPhone pro max but will connect without issues to my old iPhone 6 Plus. There seems to be incompatibility in the firmware. I chat to apple rep and he can’t resolve issue other than the AirPods Pro needs to be repaired. By accident, I discovered that the only way for me is to do the ear fit test then it will work with media such as music library but you have to redo it everytime you put in back in the airpods case. Very Frustrating

Well this is just stupid... I think I'm gonna try factory resetting her phone and see if that works while skipping the restore from iCloud. I just don't want to deal with having to re-download everything for her.. But we'll see if I decide to possibly waste my time or not.

It just doesn't make sense that we both have the same setup watch and phone, and the issue is with hers.

I called Apple support 4 times, they couldn’t fix the issues. I went to Apple Genius Bar 2 times. First time, I was told my new 12 pro max had the Bluetooth hardware issue. They replaced a new 12 pro max for me. Second time, they repaired the Bluetooth software on my replacement 12 pro max. But I still have the same issue. If anyone knows please let me know how to fix.

Happened to me as well. I didn’t use airpods, but app intermittenly amd randomly freezing.

sometime wifi on/off switch also not working (wifi is off but icon still shown as t is conneected)

worse is when app freezed and only show black screen. Then everytime unlocked from lock screen wont see anything & has to force restart.

ios been updated to 114.2..1 but still the same issue
